We purchase a stack of once time ticket which cost only E11.60 (contain 10pcs). Each time you will use 1 tickets. Trust me, it is more than enough. You can also share the tickets with your friend.
Along my trip, i found that most of the travel card is quite expensive and not really worth it . Ie : I am amsterdam, london city pass...
We had a tough time in taking the metro. Apparently there was very less staircase at metro station, we need to carry our bag up and down. Allysa had a big luggage bag that we name it "elephant" it was as heavy as 21Kg! while mine only 15kg. Everytime when she saw a staircase, she will mumble mumble and complaint. Metro in Paris was much more older than London. It do not had very clear indication, the cabin was full of vandalism...Hmm..again Europe was really not that high tech region.
We took metro from Paris Nord and came out at Pyramids station. This time we are neither staying at B&B nor Hostel. We got an apartment! A lovely one. However i still abit worry in finding its location.
However thanks to google map street view again, once i came out from the station, i saw it just opposite us. Yeah! Excellent location. It located at 12 Avenue de L Opera. Paris Opera house was just located about 800m from it. Louvre is just about 600m from it!
We push the heavy wooden door and saw most tiny lift that i ever saw in my lifetime.It was so tiny until can only fit me and allysa, of course allysa's elephant as well. It goes up to 6 floor. From the email, it said that :NUE OF address 12 THE OPERA in PARIS 1ST DISTRICT Your subway... PYRAMIDS. RECEPTION 6 ème stages door at the end of the corridor has right. (Sir and Madam BOCCANFUSO) Your apartment 7 ème stages seen Eiffel Tower. ARRIVAL..... The 23/09/2009 ALLOCATES ...... The 26/09/2009. In total .......... 3 nights.
Sound funny? Haha, it is because the owner of this apartment - Gerald & Christine cannot speak english! However at 6th floor, it was completely dark...i started to feel worry...We search around and found few doors at a turning. Some sound came out from one of the door. I try to press a button beside the door without knowing what it was for. Suddenly the door open, a kind looking old lady came out. I sneak through the door(Coz i wanted to know how a french home looked like), wow, its a comfy house inside. She greet us and introduce herself and her husband to us. Then she bought us go to this narrow staircase. Elephant was having some problem when going up. hehehe.
Wow...the apartment looked great! 1 sofa bed with kitchen and private bath. Of course not to forget aircon and TV. In Europe, aircon was not available in each hostel/b&b. As well need to double check is the ensuite bathroom or a share bathroom before you make the booking to avoid disappointment.
This apartment cost E70 per night. I asked christine how shall we gave her back the key as we leaving quite early on the third day. And i forget everything i learned on my french class. I talk english, she spoke french. But after add in some body language, we managed to understand each other.She said just leave the key on the basin will do.
We had separate toilet and bathroom. I love this kitchen so much , especially its microwave. This mean we can save money on our meal by do some light cooking instead of ate at restaurant.
Another major reason that why i choose this apartment was because of this window. You can saw eiffer tower from this window.
View from the window. Opera house was at right hand side, Louvre are at left hand side, Eiffer tower was infront! Wonderful!
Another surprise was i found this under the table! I wonder who put it here. This toy looked nothing special , but because my friend and i just sold a carton of this toy during charity flea market at SGM. It was some free gimmick tag along with liqueur.
I just felt so glad that i can found this apartment online. It is inside a B&B website and it do not had it own website, it can't even found in tripadvisor. When i do the booking, its occupancy is almost full everyday. Luckily i booked it much more earlier. If 100% is full mark to rate it, I will give it 110%! For i going to paris again, it will be my first and the only choice.
